Collaborations
Véronique Gouverneur (Oxford)
We have recently been collaborating with our colleagues in the Gouverneur group in Oxford on a number of projects related to the delivery and repurposing of fluorine using - among other things - calcium-containing reagents. Some of this work has been supported through collaborative studentships funded through the OxICFM and IMAT CDTs...

Alison Edwards (ANSTO)
We have collaborated with Alison Edwards at ANSTO in Australia, on a number of projects which involve the use of neutron diffraction techniques for key characterization data. In particular this has been employed in determining accurate structural models for hydrogen-containing molecules, where the H-tom positions are key to defining reaction pathways.

Cameron Jones (Monash)
The group has collaborated for many years with the group of Cameron Jones at Monash University in Melbourne - primarily on the synthetic and reaction chemistry of low valent main group species. This includes the paper above - part of which was the work of Oxford final year undergraduate Andy Gair who spent his 'Part 2' year in the Jones lab at Monash. More recently, Marcel Schorpp (now Regensburg) worked in Oxford on a joint project between the two groups, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung.

Jose Goicoechea (Indiana)
We have been collaborating with our (now former) colleague Jose Goicoechea for a number of years on a range of projects spanning groups 13, 14 and 15 chemistry. This has included some recent work on low valent aluminium chemistry - including the paper above detailing the first example of a lithium aluminyl compound.

Gernot Frenking (Marburg) and Lili Zhao (Nanjing)
We are collaborating with Gernot Frenking (Marburg) and Lil Zhao (Nanjing) to look at aspects of mechanism in the reactivity of metal aluminyl complexes with unsaturated substrates. The first part of this study can be found in this article recently published in Chemical Science which centred on Caitilín's experimental work on carbon dioxide sequestration and transformation.

Steve Faulkner and Bart Cornelissen (Oxford)
We have collaborated with Steve Faulkner in Oxford on projects involving the binding and detection of various anionic analytes, particularly cyanide and fluoride. More recently we have been involved with Steve and Bart Cornelissen (Oncology; now in Groningen) in the development of borane-derived 18F tags for PET imaging...
